Hi everyone I hope you are all well! I’ve just arrived back from a superb show at Hickstead CDI where I took both rebel and Neukey to compete in the junior classes.

We arrived and settled them down in their stables before I worked them with my trainer matt hicks. After I’d worked them we started plaiting the horses up ready for the trot up. Both horses trotted up really well as well as all the other GB horses and then we settled them down ready for the competition the next day. We then went to grab a drink and watch the draw for our times for the next day. As I was riding 2 horses I was allowed an Hour between them.

The ponies were on first at 8am so after feeding the horses I watched some of my friends compete before starting to get the horses ready. I was on with Rebel first at 4.08 then Neukey at 5.47. Rebel was 2nd in so I just went for an accurate test and we end on a score of 67%. Afterwards we swiftly moved onto Neukey who was a superstar scoring +70% to win the class with Rebel in 3rd. The prize giving was really fun and we won a NAF rug and sash. After the prize giving we had a celebratory BBQ with some of the other GB members before we called it a night and went to bed.
The next day I was on at pretty much the same time but with Neukey going first. This time we were 2nd but with Rebel I made a big mistake by not preparing the changes which lost us lots of marks so we ended in 6th with 65% which still I was very pleased with considering it is an international.

I was only allowed one horse in the freestyle and Neukey being my higher placed horse was entered. The test felt really good apart from my changes on a circle which i didn’t prepare well enough (I’ll be working on that!). We still ended up in 2nd place which was a fabulous end to an amazing show.

Now that we are back we have a day to unpack, wash and repack the lorry in preparation for Kapellen CDI where I am competing Rebel in the junior tests. The forecast isn’t very good but fingers crossed the forecast isn’t right!
